The Estes Express began with the purchase of a used Chevy truck in 1931 by Web Wallace Estes of Chase City, Virginia.  The company was envisioned when Estes was still a farmer and he realized that there was no convenient way for his cattle-ranching neighbors to transport their livestock to markets.  The first office was originally located on Main Street in Chase City but moved to Sycamore Street in the 1940’s.  After a post-war boom, the Estes headquarters moved to Richmond. Robert Estes, Jr. took over the company and became President in the 1980’s. Today, the ExpressLINK carrier network covers all 50 states & Canada as well as Caribbean territories & Mexico.  In 2010, at 80 years, Estes is now the largest family-owned and 5th oldest carrier in the United States.  For a more in-depth narrative of the Estes Express history, click here.
